NEW YORK, March 14 (UPI) - Recording artist Ne-Yo says he stands by disapproving remarks he made about "Jersey Shore" star Snooki`s appearance on the report of Rolling Stone magazine.
"Wow. Snooki is on the back of Rolling Stone magazine. Really? I quit. (Just kidding, but almost serious_.)." Ne-Yo recently said via Twitter.
He was promoting his new action flick, "Battle: Los Angeles," in New York last week when he was asked about his comments regarding the reality TV personality.
"Let me go on disk as saying I don`t dislike Snooki. I don`t love her to dislike her. I don`t love her," the musician said.
"She`s on the back of Rolling Stone magazine and I commented about it on Twitter," he said. "I suppose she took offense to that. That`s OK. She tweeted something back like, `Wow, you just lost a loyal fan.` But I`ll sleep at night. I merely look like Rolling Stone is a prestigious music magazine and it put Snooki on the address? Is Snooki about to cast an album? If so, OK, maybe. But, come on. _ As an artist, I felt disrespected. Mind you, not that this is a toot-your-own-horn session, but I possess three Grammys, three multi-Platinum albums _ and Rolling Stone hasn`t so much as looked in my direction. But Snooki gets the cover."
Ne-Yo, who recently became a first-time father, said he enjoys juggling his medicine and film careers.
So, what are the separate rewards and challenges he`s experienced while playing in the two media?
"Performing live, you don`t get a whole lot of chances to make mistakes. There`s not a lot of way for error, performing live. Whereas, when you`re in presence of the camera, if you don`t like that take, you just do it again and you continue doing it until you get what you want," the 31-year-old singer from Arkansas told UPI. "I actually prefer performing live because it forces you to step it up. You love you can`t stack up there; you can`t leave a word, you can`t leave a line. It`s got to be right, right then. That`s theater versus movies."
"Battle: Los Angeles" was No. 1 at the U.S. box office when it opened last weekend.
